INTERNAL CONSULTING SKILLS WORKSHOP (2 DAYS)
PURPOSE
To evolve a value add, client centered mindset among participants as they deal with various key stakeholders (including subordinates in the Regional Head Office) and to enhance skills in:
- Establishing rapport, empathy with all stakeholders so as to better motivate and influence them
- Clarifying roles, accountabilities and managing expectations
- Diagnosing, facilitating gap analysis and tackling root problems
- Facilitating clients’ solutions to their problems through effective coaching and mentoring
- Leading and serving as role models to their teams in being customer driven
- Evolving customer driven, functional sub-cultures
- Change management including conflict management bearing cultural context in mind
OBJECTIVES AND LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of the two day workshop, participants will be better able to:
- Embrace their roles in relation to adding value to client needs in multi cultural settings
- Undertake a SWOT analysis in respect of how well they are satisfying diverse stakeholders
- Develop Personal Development Plans to plug any gaps
- Systematically execute a consulting process that will ensure that they do add value to clients and are perceived to be doing so
- Coach and mentor relevant stakeholders so that they ‘own’ solutions and are committed to change
METHODOLOGY
Pre-workshop needs analysis to better define participants’ needs and learning objectives (This can be done my email and a few one on one and face to face interviews a month before the Workshop runs. The process offers the advantage of having participants ‘own’ the workshop which will be tailored to meet their specific circumstance and needs)
- The workshop agenda will be finalized following the needs analysis
- OPTIONAL use of Consulting Skills or Influencing Style questionnaire (to be charged at cost) IF the training needs analysis indicate a need for use of either or both the instruments
- The principles of ensuring a high degree of interaction and learning via role plays, case scenarios, video clips and experiential exercises will be deployed
